Uma das cantoras mais populares da história da música brasileira, ela é um dos grandes destaques desta edição da SIM São Paulo, que vai homenageá-la por seus 50 anos de carreira. Sua trajetória é marcada pelo compromisso com a grandeza artística e com a música na qual acredita, esteja ela na forma de um animado samba de carnaval ou na introspecção de uma melodia intrincada. Não à toa, em 2023, quando completou 50 anos de carreira, recebeu do Grammy Latino o Prêmio de Excelência Musical. Em 1972, então uma jovem esportista promissora, ela deixou o basquete de lado quando foi incentivada por sua amiga e professora de violão Elodi Barontini e fez um teste para a gravadora Odeon. Saiu dali praticamente contratada. No ano seguinte, seu primeiro disco é lançado. Nos anos seguintes, acumulou sucessos que atravessaram gerações. Clássicos como ‘Cigarra’, ‘Começar de novo’, ‘Tô voltando’, ‘Jura secreta’ e ‘Iolanda’ — muitos deles lembrado no disco “50 (ao vivo)”.

One of the most popular singers in the history of Brazilian music, she is one of the major highlights of this edition of SIM São Paulo, which will honor her for her 50 years of career. Her journey is marked by a commitment to artistic greatness and the music she believes in, whether it's in the form of an energetic carnival samba or the introspection of an intricate melody. No wonder, in 2023, when she celebrated 50 years of career, she received the Latin Grammy's Musical Excellence Award. In 1972, then a promising young athlete, she set aside basketball when encouraged by her friend and guitar teacher Elodi Barontini, and auditioned for the Odeon record label. She left the audition practically hired. The following year, her first album was released. In the years that followed, she accumulated hits that crossed generations. Classics like ‘Cigarra’, ‘Começar de Novo’, ‘Tô Voltando’, ‘Jura Secreta’, and ‘Iolanda’ — many of which are remembered on the album "50 (ao vivo)".
