Labatú
Labatú é Davi Ribeiro (baixo), Leon Guimarães (guitarra e voz), Luís Pio (bateria) - três amigos paraibanos e parceiros de projetos musicais desde a terra natal até a capital de São Paulo - e Naomi Kikuchi (teclados e voz), amiga japonesa cuja música sempre foi assunto em comum. Juntos, eles apresentam o EP “Past Months”, um lançamento do selo Trópico Música.
“Past Months”, foi um EP totalmente gravado em home studio, mostra suas seis faixas de indie rock inventivo, em que elementos pop se sobressaem nas vozes, em harmonias bem trabalhadas. As letras vão de críticas à toxicidade de alguns ambientes de trabalho até despretensiosos versos de lembranças da infância. Uma cozinha precisa. Bases de baixo e bateria sólidas, com grooves que guiam por si só as músicas. Som de guitarra vagueando por modulações e se encaixando aos synths, trazendo texturas e ambiência bem característicos, que podem ser identificados como marca da banda.
Labatú is Davi Ribeiro (bass), Leon Guimarães (guitar and vocals), and Luís Pio (drums)—three friends from state of Paraíba and longtime musical collaborators, from their hometown to São Paulo—alongside Naomi Kikuchi (keyboards and vocals), a Japanese friend with whom music has always been a shared passion. Together, they present the EP Past Months, released under the Trópico Música label.
Past Months was entirely recorded in a home studio and showcases six tracks of inventive indie rock, where pop elements stand out in the vocals and well-crafted harmonies. The lyrics range from critiques of toxic work environments to lighthearted verses reminiscing about childhood memories. A precise rhythm section. Solid bass and drum foundations, with grooves that drive the songs on their own. Guitars wander through modulations, blending seamlessly with synths to create distinctive textures and atmospheres—an unmistakable signature of the band.
