Kalaf Epalanga
Kalaf Epalanga (1978) é um escritor e músico nascido em Benguela, Angola e radicado em Berlim. Co-fundador da editora discográfica Enchufada e membro da banda Buraka Som Sistema (em hiato desde 2016) e do Kizomba Design Museu,. Escreveu crônicas para o jornal O Público, GQ Magazine (Portugal), REDE Angola e para a revista literária brasileira Quatro Cinco Um. Foi também curador dos festivais literários African Book Festival 2021 em Berlim e Africa Writes 2023 em Londres. Publicou no Brasil pela Todavia, os livros 'Minha Pátria é a Língua pretuguesa’ e ‘Também os Brancos Sabem Dançar’.
Kalaf Epalanga (1978) is a writer and musician born in Benguela, Angola, and based in Berlin. As a musician, he co-founded the record label Enchufada and is a member of Buraka Som Sistema (on hiatus since 2016). He has written columns for the Portuguese newspaper O Público, GQ Magazine (Portugal), the independent Angolan online magazine REDE Angola and the Brazilian literary magazine Quatro Cinco Um. He co-curated the 2023 Africa Writes Book Festival in London (UK) and the 2023 Kizomba Design Museum in São Paulo (Brasil) and curated the 2021 Berlin African Book Festival (Germany). <Whites Can Dance Too> is his debut novel, translated to English by Daniel Hahn and published by Faber.
